The Pavilion in Bend is a covered, multi-purpose, recreation pavilion including a seasonal ice facility with a traditional membrane roof, but the ice rink itself is fully enclosed with a frame-supported ETFE fabric tension structure engineered and built by PFEIFER Structures.

I want to thank you and your team for designing, producing and installing the ETFE single skin façade on our NHL regulation-size ice rink and sports facility. The ETFE fabric screen helps mitigate wind, solar radiation, and driven rain and snow from affecting the ice while allowing transparency. This contributed to the Simpson Pavilion being recognized in the Athletic Business Magazine for Public Recreation as part of their 30th annual architectural showcase.

The process of working with FabriTec was great from beginning to end. We appreciated FabriTec’s positive attitude and dedication to the project. From sales to closeout, we were impressed with FabriTec. The installation schedule was aggressive, the site had multiple logistical challenges, and the design required several changes during various stages of the project – FabriTec handled all with a prompt and professional attitude.

It has been over 2 years since substantial completion of the project, and it still looks great. Given the chance, we look forward to working with FabriTec structures again in the future and would not hesitate to recommend them for any similar project.
