Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act: Upgrading America’s Airports

PFEIFER Structures designs, engineers, and installs lightweight structures for airports. We work with industry-leading architects, developers, and general contractors to produce some of the most iconic airport structures across the United States. The United States government is investing $25 billion into airports as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to improve the nation’s airports. According to Skytrax’s Top 100 Airports of 2021 award, only one airport in the Top 25 is in the U.S. PFEIFER Structures is preparing to work with industry-leading architects, developers, and general contractors to provide significant upgrades to airports across the country. We have built a variety of structures to support airport operations like awningscovered walkwayscovered entrywaysporte-cochère structures for arrival and departure areas, and facades for parking structures.

The advanced materials we craft our structures from (including membranes, glass, and cables) require minimal structural support which allows us to create amazing, fanciful structures previously unimagined. Our lightweight airport structures provide weather protection, are low maintenance, can be designed to allow filtered daylight, and are sustainable. The scalability of our lightweight structures allows us to work efficiently on projects ranging from relatively small regional airports to some of the largest international airports.

PFEIFER Structures has produced some of the most iconic airport structures across the United States, such as at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (#46 per Skytrax Top 100), Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (#70), and Greater Rochester International Airport. PFEIFER Structures has also contributed to some of the highest-ranking airports: Munich International Airport (#6) and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (#14).
